Bates-Warren-Curry House at Marion, AL (built ca. 1830; listed on the NRHP)

Antebellum, Historic Home | Marion in Perry County

This Vermont Colonial-style house was built by the Bates family circa 1830. This two-story structure was originally constructed of hand-hewn logs that are now covered with weatherboards. The house has a basement where the logs can still be seen. The kitchen and smoke-house which were located in the backyard were moved and attached to the house.

This house is a contributing property to the West Marion Historic District that was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) on April 22, 1993. It is located at 112 West Lafayette Street at Marion, AL (GPS coordinates 32.631807, -87.321102).

This is a private residence – drive by only.
