Methodist have been active in the area of Lower Peach Tree since the early 1820s. This was shortly after Lower Peach Tree was settled and Alabama became a state. Methodist circuit riders served the area.

The Lower Peach Tree Methodist congregation was founded in 1846. The current church building was completed in 1874. This church is one of the few structures that survived the 1913 tornado that demolished the Lower Peach Tree community. This tornado left 28 dead and many others injured.

This church is located beside Wilcox Co. Rd 1 near the intersection in Lower Peach Tree ( 31.841417,-87.546333 – Google Maps).
