In the background is the Clarke County Courthouse. It is included in the “Grove Hill Courthouse Square Historic District” that was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 30, 1998. The Courthouse Square Historic District contains 25 contributing buildings, 1 contributing site, and 1 contributing structure.
