OLD TOWN FRANKLIN at Franklin, AL (in Monroe County)

When traveling Highway 41 between Monroeville and Camden, you will pass a very picturesque scene at Franklin that includes several nicely restored buildings all neatly located within white picket fences. These buildings include the old Franklin School House, Dr. J. W. Rutherford Office, Rutherford Brothers Store, Rutherford Brothers Store Warehouse and the Franklin Methodist Church. All of these were built circa 1900. These buildings were privately restored through the Rutherford family. Captions on the pictures that are provided identify the buildings.

These restored buildings are located beside Highway 41 at Franklin approximaely 17 miles north of Monroeville (GPS coordinates 31.714314,-87.41096).
