Powell-Grimes Home at Pine Apple, AL (built ca.1854; remodeled ca. 1893)

This is a one-story hipped-roof Greek Revival house with a substantial turn-of-the-century front addition containing gingerbread trim. Features include three decorative front gables, a three-bay wide front porch, an L-shaped back porch and a small side porch (all with gingerbread trim), and double front doors with sidelights and transom.

This home is one of the 73 properties included in the Pine Apple Historic District that’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). It is located on the west side of Broad Street approximately one-quarter mile north of Pine Apple’s Town Hall (31°52’36.4″N 86°59’19.3″W – Google Maps).

This is a private residence – drive by only.
